I'm kind of bummed! June 15, 2010 Nmawob9 (Ohio) I am not into computers too much so maybe netbooks don't come with excel but I really wanted to use this for electronic book keeping and it won't let me. I may be doing something wrong but it kind of stinks that I cannot! I do like it a lot other than that. I like having the web cam and it is very cute. :)
pretty good for a little netbook March 13, 2010 H. Urena (NewYork,NY) so i just recieved my Samsung Go in the turquoise blue and i absolutely LOVE IT!!! i've been using mac for aslong as i can remeber soo its taking a bit to get used to PC ..but for a teen who uses comps mostly for web browsing ,papers and camera fun its seems to hold out great so far ...I've reseached a few companies and mostly all netbooks are quite similar so i chose the Go because of its battery life chicklet keyboard and kik ass design ... yea the samsung logo is a bit obnoxious but its not that bad especially if u add ur own touch of stickers.
my cons are
the speakers truly suck (but u could hook up external speakers n head phones)
the font is crazy small n i wear glasses so thats a pain (im pretty sure u could fix that in settings )
n thats it so far yea it was almost 470 but its worth it if you like to stand out and cant stand the glossy-ness of all the other netbooks this baby is for you =D
Best Netbook January 30, 2010 Candance D. Woodby (Candy) This is an awesome little netbook. I got it for my daughter who is 16. We upgraded to 2GB and downloaded Word. Now she has a fast, portable computer that has what she needs to do basic homework and surf the net.
Great Mini-Me January 28, 2010 shopperzz (CT) I have had this for about a month now. It looks great (the blue is quite bright - b ut the photo color seems accurate to me). It is very sturdy. The battery has been lasting about 6.5 hours. I installed MS Word easily using a memory stick. I was going to buy the uograde to 2G but found I don't need it - it's fine for surfing and word processing, just as it is. My only issue with it is that it comes with a plastic screen protector that's fairly annoying. It's highly reflective, makes it harder to see the display and personally I don't want to see what the bottom of my chin looks like when I am typing. It is a flimsy peice of plastic and I am tempted to rip it off. That being said I have no regrets. Check the internet for price$ though before you buy it.
Love it! January 17, 2010 P. LoPinto 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Thanks to everyone who posted product reviews! They were invaluable to me in purchasing this netbook as well as a SnapScan 1500 scanner and NeatWorks software for receipts.
I purchased the Samsung GO after spending hours reading reviews here of many of the netbook models. I orginally wanted an HP, then looked at ASUS, and others. I wanted a five-star reviewed netbook with XP and a comfortable keyboard. The Samsung was priced higher than I wanted to spend, but I got a brand new "used" one on Amazon for $364 total.
I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and it's improved the quality of my life considerably! It's enabled me to have a very portable computer with me whenever I leave the house. It's so light I carry it in a small shoulder bag and I can hardly tell it's there. That's very important to me because I have some physical limitations. I can easily set it up and work in cafes that have free wireless, without needing to be near an electrical outlet. The biggest advantage (and the main reason I wanted a netbook) is it is enabling me to work out of the house where my partner is often home (!). It's sturdy, fast, and light. The battery does last a long time, in part because the computer shuts down when you're not using it.
Netbooks in general are an adjustment for me because you can't load software onto them from CDs and the monitors are further away from you and smaller. I had a lot of eye strain and headaches the first few days of using this but that's gone away.
Let's see, things I would prefer to be different with this product: you can't readily open it without touching and smudging the monitor screen, sometimes the format of web pages is different, preventing me from performing typical functions, but this could be a set-up issue, on some web pages the type is HUGE and changing the font appearance doesn't help (probably something I screwed up!), the turquoise is beautiful and unique but it's pretty intense and I wish I'd gotten blue or black, and it would be nice if it came with a carrying case.
I'm very happy with this product and brag about it to people who ask me about it in cafes. Of course they notice it because no one else has a netbook yet and this one is a beautiful turquoise!
